The Company

Westernport Agencies(ABN 68 088 876 171) was founded in September 1986, by George Mejia, trading under the name Point Leo 100 until November 1989 when the name was changed. The company's focus was to provide purchasing services to customers with specific and precise needs. Simultaneously, Westernport Agencies provided I.T. support services for small to medium size businesses.

For 10 years it provided full Purchasing Management services to one of the most successful Video Gaming Machine Manufacturer, and other customers who needed specialist help in procuring hard to find components. At the same time Westernport Agencies started importing connectors from manufacturers in Japan and Taiwan such as Oupiin, Alex and EDA to service the cable manufacturing industry.

Micro-View Australia Pty. Ltd. (ABN 68 082 378 612) was incorporated in April 1998. Continuing trading as Westernport Agencies. The I.T support services was separated in November 1998, incorporated as Mejico Pty. Ltd. (ACN 084 798 014). This was done to diversify the company so that Micro-View Australia could concentrate on supporting their business with "open frame" monitors, touch screens and electronic sub-assemblies, while Westernport Agencies concentrated on servicing the cable assembly manufacturers. Western Port Agencies Pty.Ltd.:(ABN 68 088 876 171).

In May 1999 Bryan Bell joined as partner in Westernport Agencies side of the business, leaving more time for George Mejia to support the monitor business with more vigour. As of July 1st 1999 Westernport Agencies and Micro-View Australia operate as separate entities so that more diversification can be implemented into the companies. At this time we have also moved into new premises in Mentone, Victoria to allow for future growth. Both companies are stocking product at this location so our customers can expect quick responses to orders. Westernport Agencies will be concentrating more on a broader range of connectors and switches to service the electronics manufacturing industry in both the printed circuit board connectors and switches as well as continuing growth in the service of the cable manufacturers.
